The Generator, Overall Project

What is it?

The Generator, Art As the Premise for Policymaking, is an initiative which uses art to create legal fictions meant for implementation.

Clarifications on How to Participate

How to participate?

To participate to the project of The Generator you can either suggest a premise that The Generator would then invest, or interpret one of the many that are already existing.

Your “interpretation” can take the form of a policy proposal, an art piece, a fiction or a Constitution. All interpretations should be screenshots of a society in which this premise would exist in one way or another. The art pieces and fictions are encouraged to explore the limits of such premises while the policy proposals and Constitutions are encouraged to further the premise's rhetoric.

Examples of premises are: "What if oxygen was currency?", "What if there was no borders in the world?", "What if societal needs for electricity could be generated merely by the body?"

You can also send us “Impetus”. Impetus are non-proposals done along the creating process. They usually take the form of a norm visual dismantlement, an awareness wink, or a play-on-word meant to underline a rhetorical motif. This aspect of The Generator is potentially meant to sustain it financially. While it accepts to take commissions, it obviously operates under the same The Generator’s identity, that is, to propose interpretations of a world in which alternative legal fictions would be implemented.

How to stand with it?

There is a certain optimistim needed for you in any kind of contribution or entreprise with The Generator. In its essence, The Generator trusts that everything is possible, and that nothing but ourselves are stepping between our limited perspective what society is and the experience of society as a playground for experiences with beauty. History is created by the conditions that make an event happen, and wee need to create the foundations for this history to happen. The Generator stands for the ability of individuals to emancipate from norms and structures in which their freedom to explore is condemned to operate under behaviors that haven't allowed us to transcend our artistic society,

Special notes for artist contributions

Some ideas

As an artist contributor you can propose an interpretation of how the reality would look like if those premises were implemented. You can use any medium you would like: photography, painting, writing, performance, film, etc. However, it is important to know that whereas we work with abstractions at the premises' conceptualizing level, The Generator takes a stand for a form of clarity within the representations of the interpretations. As suggested earlier, we are working with legal fictions. The goal of those legal fictions is to offer an opportunity to reflect with and through them.

We think of the arts as embedded with the ability to clarify complex concepts and expand the possibility for comprehension of an idea as a whole. Think of your contribution as a fictional documentary; how would the world would look like if this was one of the premise of our world? Please, text-us if you have any other questions, we can help you getting your work of the ground.

Special notes for thinker contributions

Some ideas

As a thinker contributor you can critique the premises and their interpretations, enhance limits and/or ways to break through them. The angle that you should take to speak our language is the language of rhetoric as The Generator stands for the possibility that any rhetorically accurate sentence can be outputted into reality. We are looking for articulate and correct, leaning-on-inclusion groups of phrases dissecting systems of interactions. Another way to contribute is to -your turn- propose a premise. The Generator will publish absurdities and total abstractions if the ideas within are going in the direction we are following. We won’t publish “noir” ideas though.

Special notes for policymakers and people of relative power/influence

Some ideas

As a policymaker, mathematician, scientist, gallery worker, agent, newspaper, investor, publisher, etc, -  you can send us your knowledge and enlightenment on the developed concepts. You can give us ideas as to how to implement it in a real world. Simply; you can offer us exposure or/and advocate for our ideas within your fields.

Special notes for the others - no one is an other here. Send us anything you trust in.
